Good News For U2 Fans
After months of rehabilitation, Bono and the U2 crew are gearing up for the start of the 360 Tour European leg. Additionally, the band has announced that the 20 North American dates have been rescheduled for the Spring/Summer 2011, and luckily, at all the same venues. All U2 tickets for original tour dates will be honored, but if necessary, refunds are available at the original point of purchase.
U2 was originally scheduled to play the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum on June 20th. It has been rescheduled for June 7, 2011.
In May 2010, U2 had to postpone the start of their continuing 360 Tour. Bono was injured during the band’s tour preparation & training. As a result he was admitted to a specialist neurosurgery unit in a hospital in Germany, where he had emergency back surgery. A lengthy recovery period followed.
Paul McGuinness, U2’s manager, released an official statement thanking fans for their continual support, “We’re delighted the dates are rescheduled and in all the same venues we originally planned to play. It hasn’t been easy to accomplish this and I’d like to thank the managers of the many venues and sports teams across North America and Live Nation Global Touring for their help and cooperation in making this complex new plan possible. Above all we want to thank the U2 fans for bearing with us. They’re the best and the band wants to get back to where they belong, surrounded by their audience.”
